Project
Requirements
The
most important criterion for projects is that they are multi-functional
and require cross-functional integration for project success. The business functions are:
-
Finance
-
Accounting
-
Operations
-
Marketing
-
Management
-
Statistics
- Strategy
To make the projects more challenging, we
would like to include at least 3, if not 4, of the above areas.
Because
of the more integrative nature, we should expect projects to have
“big-picture” implications. These
projects should affect different units of the organization, and also
have an impact on the future direction of the company. The company may want the teams to do a preliminary analysis,
confirm (independently) conventional wisdom that managers hold, or
analyze one aspect of a large project.
